Christ-followers were “holding everything in common” (Acts 2:44). The practice seemed to be a kind of socialism, in which believers shared what they had with other believers. Yet think of it more like a family in which each one not only looks after their own interests but also the interests of others (Philippians 2:4). Out of your abundance, you help those with a scarcity. Everything in common is about caring for one another.
