You Have To Bend The Knee

You can’t live a spiritual life without the Holy Spirit, but you’ll never receive the Holy Spirit without first dying to your own lordship. Stubbornness isn’t a fruit of the Spirit, but rather the fruit of an unsubmitted spirit to the Lordship of Jesus. If Jesus isn’t Lord, then the Holy Spirit isn’t in “control” (Paul’s word in Romans 8) of your life. A Christian without the Holy Spirit isn’t really found in the Bible.
